What Does PMRS Do From Its Mesquite Office?

This office handles metal roofing work for Mesquite and the rest of Dallas-Fort Worth: estimates, roof planning, material orders and crew scheduling. It is our base for the whole Metroplex.

The panels for your roof are roll-formed on our own equipment and cut to the length of each roof run. Trim, flashing, chimney caps and gutters are bent on computerized equipment to match. Our crews then install the system to the manufacturer’s recommendations and standard practice.

It is a working office, not a showroom, so please call or send the form before stopping by. We come to your property to inspect the roof, take measurements and walk through options with you.

Which Metal Roofs Suit Mesquite Homes Best?

Most Mesquite houses are single-story brick ranches built from the 1960s through the 1980s, and their long, simple roof planes are a natural match for standing seam. Newer two-story homes on the southeast side often lean toward metal shingles or stone-coated steel, especially where an HOA reviews exterior changes.

Brick ranch homes with composition roofs

A typical Mesquite ranch has few valleys and long runs from eave to ridge. That is where roll-formed standing seam pays off, because each panel can run the full slope in one piece. Fewer seams and no exposed screws mean fewer places for wind-driven rain to find a way in.

Check the pitch before choosing a profile. Snap lock panels need a slope of at least 3/12. Low back porches, patio covers and flat-ish additions usually call for mechanical lock, which is rated down to 1/2:12 over a solid deck.

Newer two-story homes and HOA neighborhoods

Since the 2000s, the southeast part of the city toward Kaufman County has filled in with brick two-story homes. Solterra and other newer subdivisions have HOAs, while most established neighborhoods do not.

Where a committee reviews roofs, metal shingles and stone-coated steel closely imitate shingle, shake or tile. Texas Property Code 202.011 also limits an HOA’s ability to block impact-resistant or energy-efficient shingles that match what the neighborhood already allows.

We schedule estimates in every part of the city, from Downtown Mesquite and Creek Crossing to Falcon’s Lair and Solterra, across ZIP codes 75149, 75150, 75180, 75181, 75185 and 75187.

Do You Need a Permit or HOA Approval for a New Roof in Mesquite?

The City of Mesquite decides which roofing jobs need a permit, and its requirements can change. We confirm the current rules for your address before your roof goes on the schedule, so there are no surprises on installation day.

If an HOA governs your lot, its architectural committee will usually want the product name, the color and a spec sheet. We can supply color charts and panel spec sheets for that submittal, and our color chart page helps you narrow choices first.

Texas has no state license for roofing contractors, so a license number cannot tell you who is reliable. Ask any roofer for a written estimate that names the materials, the gauge and the warranty, and compare those details line by line.

How Can PMRS Help After a Hail or Wind Storm in Mesquite?

We inspect the roof, photograph and measure the damage, and give you a written estimate for the full replacement scope. You can share that estimate with your insurance adjuster, who decides what the policy covers.

East Dallas County gets its share of spring storms. Hail from quarter to golf-ball size was reported near Mesquite on April 8, 2024. Seven weeks later, the May 28, 2024 derecho pushed damaging straight-line winds across the eastern side of the county.

Since 2019, Texas law has made it a misdemeanor for a contractor to pay, waive or rebate a homeowner’s insurance deductible. We will not do it, and you should be wary of anyone who offers.

After big storms, out-of-town crews often go door to door. The Texas Attorney General advises getting several estimates, letting your adjuster inspect first and never paying in full up front. If you sign a contract at your door, Texas law generally gives you three business days to cancel.

Replacing the roof anyway? Ask about a Class 4 impact-rated metal roof, which may qualify for an insurance credit set by your carrier.

How Much Does a Metal Roof Cost in Mesquite?

Our published installed price for 24-gauge Galvalume standing seam with a Kynar 500 finish is $15 per square foot of roof surface on a house. A roof with 2,000 square feet of surface would come to about $30,000 before tear-off and add-ons.

Most Mesquite ranches wear composition shingles today. Tearing off the first layer adds $1.25 per square foot, and each extra layer adds $0.75 more. Try the metal roof cost calculator for your own range.

How Far Is the Mesquite Office From Nearby Cities?

We serve the rest of the Metroplex too. See the full list on our service areas page.

What Does a PMRS Installation Look Like?

A standing seam job follows a set order: deck repairs, underlayment rated for metal roof temperatures, concealed clips at the spacing the panel calls for, then panels and trim. Our project records name the panel, the metal and the finish on each roof.

What Dallas-Fort Worth Homeowners Say About Permanent Metal Roofing Systems

Mesquite Metal Roofing FAQ

Where is the PMRS office in Mesquite?

Our Dallas-Fort Worth office is at 3100 Manchester Dr, Mesquite, TX 75150. It is a working office rather than a showroom, so call (469) 466-2421 or send the estimate form first, and we will come to your property to look at the roof.

Is a metal roof a good fit for a Mesquite ranch house?

Usually, yes. Single-story ranch roofs have long, simple planes, which suit standing seam panels formed to the length of each run. Check the pitch first: snap lock needs a 3/12 slope or steeper, while mechanical lock can go as low as 1/2:12 on porches and low additions.

Do Mesquite HOAs allow metal roofs?

Many established Mesquite neighborhoods have no HOA at all. In Solterra and other newer subdivisions, the HOA reviews roofing changes. Metal shingles and stone-coated steel tend to be the easiest to approve, and Texas Property Code 202.011 limits bans on impact-resistant shingles that match the neighborhood’s look.

How much does a metal roof cost in Mesquite?

Our published installed price for 24-gauge Galvalume standing seam with a Kynar 500 finish is listed on our metal roof cost page, along with a calculator. Tear-off, steep pitches and add-ons such as pipe boots or skylights change the total, and your written estimate confirms it after we measure.

Can PMRS help with a hail damage insurance claim in Mesquite?

We can inspect the roof, document hail and wind damage with photos and measurements, and give you a written replacement estimate to share with your adjuster. Your insurer decides what is covered, and Texas law requires you to pay your own deductible.

Do I need a roofing permit in Mesquite?

The City of Mesquite sets the permit rules for roofing work, and requirements can change. We confirm what the city requires for your address before your roof is scheduled, so permits do not hold up installation day.

Which nearby cities does the Mesquite office serve?

From Mesquite we cover all of Dallas-Fort Worth. Close neighbors such as Sunnyvale, Balch Springs, Garland, Rowlett, Forney, Seagoville and Rockwall are all within about 14 miles. Our service areas page lists every city we cover.
