Where Does PMRS Install Metal Roofs?

We work across nine North Texas counties: Dallas, Kaufman, Rockwall, Collin, Ellis, Tarrant, Denton, Hunt, Johnson. The core of that area is east Dallas County, where our office sits on Manchester Drive in Mesquite.

Sunnyvale, Balch Springs, Garland and Rowlett are all within about 8 miles of the office. Most of our city guides cover towns within 25 miles, and Frisco, McKinney and Arlington sit a little farther out. Mesquite itself has its own page: see our Mesquite office and local roofing guide.

Homeowners anywhere in this area get the same process: an on-site inspection, measurements, a written estimate for the whole system and the same warranty terms. Builders and contractors get the same spec sheets, take-offs and shop drawings.

How Far From Mesquite Do Our Crews Travel?

Every job is planned from our Mesquite office, and we serve towns up to about 30 miles away. Distance affects scheduling, not the inspection, the estimate or the warranty you receive.

Find Your City

Each city guide covers the local housing stock, HOA patterns, recent storms and permit notes for that town. Cities are grouped by their primary county.

What Changes for a Roof From One Part of DFW to Another?

Housing age, HOA rules and storm history shift a lot across the Metroplex, and they change which roof makes sense. Here is what we keep in mind in each part of our service area.

East Dallas County and Lake Ray Hubbard

Garland, Mesquite and Balch Springs are full of 1950s to 1980s single-story homes, most under composition shingles and many with no HOA. Rowlett and the lake shore filled in later with two-story homes in HOA communities such as Waterview and Lakeview Pointe.

Storm history here is real. The December 26, 2015 EF4 tornado crossed I-30 at the Garland and Rowlett line, and hail was reported across the area on April 8, 2024. Long, simple ranch roofs make standing seam a strong fit.

Dallas, the Park Cities and the inner north suburbs

Dallas runs from 1920s bungalows to brand-new two-story homes, and some inner-ring neighborhoods follow conservation district rules instead of an HOA. Richardson is known for mid-century brick ranches. The October 20, 2019 EF3 tornado cut a path of nearly 16 miles through North Dallas and Richardson.

The City of Dallas asks roofing contractors to register with Building Inspection and requires a permit to replace a whole roof. We confirm requirements for every address before work starts.

Rockwall and Kaufman counties

Forney is dominated by production homes built since 2005, nearly all in subdivisions with architectural review. Most Rockwall neighborhoods built after the mid-1990s also have HOA roof-color guidelines. Heath, by contrast, has large custom homes where standing seam and tile already appear on many roofs.

For HOA lots, metal shingles and stone-coated steel tend to clear review fastest. The May 28, 2024 derecho brought winds near 80 mph to Rockwall County, so uplift-rated details matter here.

Collin County

Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen and Wylie mix 1970s to 1990s brick homes with large master-planned communities. HOAs govern most subdivisions built after the mid-1990s. Wylie’s April 11, 2016 storm dropped hail larger than 4 inches, among the costliest in county history.

Insurance is a bigger factor here. In Frisco and Plano, some carriers switch roofs to actual-cash-value settlement at about 10 years, which makes a Class 4 impact-rated roof worth pricing.

Southern Dallas County, Ellis County and the west side

Lancaster and Duncanville hold many 1960s to 1980s brick ranches, while DeSoto, Cedar Hill and Red Oak lean toward brick two-story homes from the 1990s on, often with HOAs. An EF2 tornado from the April 3, 2012 outbreak damaged hundreds of Lancaster homes. Grand Prairie and Arlington sit along the Dallas and Tarrant county line, where spring supercells track often.

Tarrant County has logged roughly 126 severe-hail days since 2000. Arlington works from the 2021 International Codes, and we check its permit rules before each job.

Is Your Town Not Listed?

Call or send the form anyway. If your home or building is in one of the counties above, we can usually schedule an estimate even when your town has no guide yet.

Contractors can also order panels, trim and accessories without installation. Materials-only orders go out by van at $350 per trip or by box truck at $500 per trip. See our fabrication services for details.

Service Area Questions

What areas does PMRS serve?

We serve Dallas-Fort Worth from our office in Mesquite, across Dallas, Kaufman, Rockwall, Collin, Ellis, Tarrant, Denton, Hunt, Johnson counties. Our city guides cover towns within about 30 miles of the office, including Garland, Rowlett, Dallas, Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Arlington.

Does PMRS work in Fort Worth and Tarrant County?

Tarrant County is part of our service area, and Arlington has its own city guide. If your home or building is elsewhere in Tarrant County, call or send the estimate form and we will confirm scheduling for your address.

How do I know if my city requires a roofing permit?

Each city sets its own rules. Dallas, for example, requires a permit to replace a whole roof and asks roofing contractors to register with the city. We check the current requirements for your address before your job is scheduled.

Will my HOA need to approve a metal roof?

If your subdivision has an HOA with architectural review, plan on submitting the product, color and a spec sheet. HOAs are common in newer master-planned neighborhoods in Frisco, Forney, Rockwall and Rowlett and rare in many older ones. Texas Property Code 202.011 limits bans on certain impact-resistant shingles.

Can contractors order materials without installation?

Yes. We supply panels, trim, flashing, clips and other accessories to contractors, with delivery by van or box truck priced per trip. Send your plans or a cut list to get a materials quote.

Is my part of DFW at risk for hail?

Every county we serve sits in the North Texas hail corridor. Texas has led the nation in major hail events for 11 straight years, and Tarrant County alone has logged roughly 126 severe-hail days since 2000. A Class 4 impact-rated metal roof is worth pricing anywhere in the Metroplex.
