Metal roof installation in Burleson, TX
Burleson Metal Roofs, Old Town to the Chisholm Trail Parkway
Burleson began in 1880 as a depot stop on the Katy railroad between Fort Worth and Alvarado, and today it stretches from Old Town out to new subdivisions along the Chisholm Trail Parkway, with farms and acreage at its edges. Permanent Metal Roofing Systems covers that whole range. Houses get standing seam, steel shakes and shingles or DECRA stone-coated steel; barns, shops and barndominiums get corrugated or PBR panels. At about 52 miles from our Mesquite office, Burleson is the farthest city on our list, so estimates are scheduled ahead and we bring samples and color charts the first time. Each one is free, measured on site and itemized in writing.

Matching a Metal Roof to Burleson Homes
Burleson stayed a small town until the 1960s, then grew from about 2,300 residents in 1960 to more than 47,000 in 2020. Census estimates put the median home at 2002; about 56 percent of houses date from 2000 or later, and roughly 29 percent from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The older group is mostly one-storey ranches near Old Town and along I-35W, where porch tie-ins and low back porches deserve a close look at tear-off. The newer group is two-storey brick-and-stone homes in subdivisions off FM 1187 and Hulen, and more are coming: Chisholm Summit, a master-planned community of about 900 acres, is taking shape near the Chisholm Trail Parkway on the city’s western edge.
We work throughout Burleson, including Old Town, Hidden Creek, Mountain Valley, the FM 1187 and Hulen neighborhoods and Chisholm Summit, and on acreage toward Joshua and Crowley.
Why Burleson Roofs Take a Beating
The largest hail reported near Burleson in recent years fell on the night of June 12, 2023. At 10:18 p.m. someone just southwest of town measured a 4-inch hailstone, and readers sent NBC DFW photos of 3- to 4-inch hail around Burleson and Joshua, one showing a car and roof beaten up. Less than two years later, early on March 8, 2025, golf-ball hail fell just north of the city. Wind is the other concern on open land: on January 10, 2020, a National Weather Service survey team confirmed an EF-1 tornado in neighboring Joshua. For homes we steer toward 24-gauge standing seam or to a product whose manufacturer publishes a UL 2218 Class 4 rating; on barns and shops, fastener spacing on exposed-fastener panels gets as much attention as the steel itself.
- Honest advice on what Class 4 does and does not cover, including cosmetic denting
- Dated storm-damage photos and measurements
- No pressure and no door-to-door storm chasing

Metal Roofing Systems We Install in Burleson
Burleson work splits three ways. Old Town and I-35W ranches are natural candidates for snap lock standing seam over the main house, with mechanical lock on any section flatter than 3/12. The newer two-storeys off FM 1187 and Hulen are usually better served by a textured product, DECRA’s stone-coated steel or EDCO’s ArrowLine steel shake, which keeps a subdivision-friendly look; EDCO rates ArrowLine Class 4. On the acreage around the city, corrugated and PBR panels go on barns, shops, equipment sheds and barndominiums; for long buildings we bring the mobile roll former and cut each panel to full length on site, so there are no end laps. One color can carry across the house and every outbuilding.
Standing Seam Roofs
A clean, modern roof with no exposed screws to back out, available with Class 4 impact-rated assemblies.
Stone-Coated Steel
DECRA shake, shingle and tile profiles that keep a traditional look on Burleson homes in HOA neighborhoods.
Metal Shingles and Shakes
Interlocking metal shingles that shed hail and wind and keep a cedar, slate or tile appearance.
Corrugated and PBR Roofs
Ribbed panels for barns, shops and porch roofs, cut to the length of each run before they reach the site.
Copper and Zinc Roofing
Natural copper and zinc in standing seam, flat lock or diamond panels for whole roofs, bays and turrets.
Metal Roof Repair
Leaks at seams, screws, pipe boots and flashing traced and fixed on Burleson metal roofs, ours or not.
Every Burleson roof is priced from its own measurements. The metal roof cost guide explains which choices move the number most, from pitch and tear-off to profile and metal.
Approvals Before a Burleson Metal Roof Goes On
Burleson’s building department lists residential re-roofs where decking will be replaced among the jobs that need a permit, and it notes the list is not all-inclusive. In practice, we inspect the deck at tear-off, file the permit when sheathing has to be replaced, and check with Building Inspections on anything unusual. The city enforces the 2021 International Residential Code and has said it plans to consider the 2024 codes by the end of 2026. Associations are the other layer: they govern most subdivisions built after 2000, such as Hidden Creek and Mountain Valley, and review roofing materials and colors, while older streets near Old Town are less likely to have one. Where a review applies, we prepare the product data, color samples and impact rating it calls for.

Metal Roofing in Burleson: Common Questions
Burleson saw 4-inch hail in June 2023. Is any roof really rated for stones that size?
No residential roof is guaranteed against 4-inch hail. In the UL 2218 Class 4 test, a 2-inch steel ball falls 20 feet onto the product, so the rating shows how a product handles serious impact, not the largest stones Texas produces. Mass and texture help: a 24-gauge panel shrugs off more impact than 26-gauge, and stone-coated steel’s granular face disguises minor dings. Hail damage is an insurance matter, so read your policy, including any exclusion for cosmetic damage.
Our 1970s ranch near Old Town Burleson has a nearly flat back porch. Can metal cover it too?
Usually, yes. Snap lock standing seam needs at least a 3/12 pitch, so we measure the porch first. Below that, mechanical lock panels, seamed on site on solid sheathing under a high-temperature underlayment, are rated down to 1/2:12, which handles most porch and patio roofs too shallow for shingles. Both profiles can be ordered in the same color, so the porch matches the main roof.
Our place is in Johnson County outside Burleson’s city limits. Do you work there?
Yes. We serve the surrounding area as well as the city, including rural lots between Burleson, Joshua and Crowley. Permit rules outside city limits are not the same as Burleson’s, so before work starts we confirm which authority, if any, covers your address and handle whatever filing it requires. Rural jobs often include an outbuilding, and we can price the house and a barn or shop on one itemized estimate.
Does PMRS repair metal roofs in Burleson that another company installed?
Yes. We trace leaks at seams, screws, pipe boots and flashing on standing seam, PBR, corrugated and metal shingle roofs, whoever put them on, and explain the cause before we fix it.
