Winter Metal Roof Labor Savings on Open Crew Dates

Winter leaves open dates on our crew calendar, so while this offer runs Permanent Metal Roofing Systems takes 30% off the installation labor on any metal roof our crews install.

  • 20+ years of experience
  • Lifetime limited warranty
  • Free written estimates

How Much Do Winter Metal Roof Labor Savings Add Up To?

The savings equal 30% of the installation labor on your written estimate. After we measure, the estimate lists labor on its own line, apart from panels, trim, underlayment and tear-off, and the discount is figured from that line.

Because labor sits on its own line, the saving is easy to check: take 30% of that line, and you have the figure on the discount line below it.

How does it read on the estimate?

Estimate lineWhat it coversWinter offer
Panels, trim and underlaymentThe roof system you chooseNot discounted
Tear-off and haul-awayRemoving the old roofNot discounted

Winter crew labor savingsA line of its ownMinus 30% of the labor line

The percentage is the same at every roof size, so a larger roof with more labor earns a larger saving. Steep-pitch charges and add-ons such as pipe boots keep their own lines and are not discounted.

Who Can Use the Winter Labor Offer?

Any homeowner or building owner whose roof our crews install can use it, whatever the panel or roof system.

  1. Request a free estimate while the status line near the top says the offer is running.
  2. Name the winter labor offer when you book, so it is on your file before the visit.
  3. Review the written estimate: the labor line and the 30% savings appear as separate lines.
  4. Sign inside the offer window, then ask which winter crew dates are open.

The offer stands alone and does not combine with other discounts. Its spring cousin, the storm-season prep discount, takes 20% off the same labor line. Spring dates fill as hail season nears, which is why winter carries the deeper cut.

Can You Install a Metal Roof in a DFW Winter?

Yes, on most days. DFW winters are mild enough for roof work much of the time, and we move a day when frost, ice or rain makes the deck unsafe.

Hard freezes do arrive. One recent arctic blast held DFW at or below 32 F for about 89 straight hours. A crew calendar with open dates absorbs a stretch like that without pushing your roof far down the line.

What changes when we roof in cold weather?

  • Room to grow. Steel is at its shortest on a cold morning. Floating clips let each panel slide as it lengthens in summer heat.
  • Warm deck first. Self-adhered underlayment bonds best above its maker’s listed temperature, so we lay it as the deck warms.
  • Dry, clean seams. Sealant and butyl tape go only on dry, frost-free metal.
  • Shorter days. We size each day’s work so every open section is dried in before dark.

Because we roll-form panels and bend trim in our own shop, a quieter winter schedule usually means shorter waits for fabrication. See each step from tear-off to walkthrough in our installation process, compare panels on the standing seam page, and see what moves the cost of a roof on our metal roof cost guide.

Terms that apply to every Permanent Metal Roofing Systems offer

  • Offers are for new projects inside our Dallas-Fort Worth service area. A monthly offer applies to proposals signed by the last day of the month it runs.
  • Every discount comes off the price on your written estimate and is shown on your proposal as its own line before you sign.
  • One offer per project unless that offer says it can be combined. Offers have no cash value and do not apply to signed contracts, deposits already paid or finished work.
  • On an insurance claim, a discount lowers the contract price we report to your insurance company. It is never applied to your deductible: Texas law (HB 2102, 2019) requires homeowners to pay their own deductible, and Permanent Metal Roofing Systems does not pay, waive or rebate any part of it.
  • We can end or change an offer at any time. A proposal you have already signed keeps its price.

Winter Labor Savings FAQ

Which part of my estimate does the 30% come off?

The installation labor line only. Your written estimate lists panels, trim, underlayment, tear-off and labor separately after we measure, and the 30% is figured from the labor line. Steep-pitch charges and add-ons such as pipe boots are not part of it.

Is it too cold to install a metal roof in winter?

Not on most DFW winter days. We work when the deck is dry and free of frost or ice, and we move the day when a freeze or rain sets in. Clips and panels are built to handle the movement between a cold install day and summer heat.

Will my roof go on in winter if I sign during the offer?

The savings follow your signing date, not the install date. We place signed jobs onto the open winter dates on our calendar, and weather and material lead times set the final day. If weather pushes the work later, your signed price does not change.

Does a winter install change my warranty?

No. The season does not change coverage. Our standing seam roofs carry the same lifetime non-prorated limited warranty on material and labor whenever they are installed.
