Free 24 Gauge Metal Roof Upgrade, Plus 15% Off an Outbuilding Roof

While this offer runs, we upgrade your standing seam house roof from 26-gauge SMP to 24-gauge Galvalume with Kynar 500 at no extra cost, and take 15% off the roof on one detached outbuilding added to the same contract.

  • 20+ years of experience
  • Lifetime limited warranty
  • Free written estimates

What Does the Free 24-Gauge Upgrade Include?

You get 24-gauge Galvalume standing seam, finished in Kynar 500, at no extra charge. Your written estimate prices the house roof as 26-gauge SMP, and we build it in the heavier, longer-lasting system.

  • The house roof upgrade. Your snap lock or mechanical lock standing seam house roof is estimated as 26-gauge SMP and built as the 24-gauge Kynar 500 system.
  • The outbuilding discount. Add one detached garage, shop, barn or pool house to the same contract and take 15% off that roof.

Tear-off, dumpsters and add-ons keep their regular amounts on the estimate. Both savings appear as their own lines, so you can see them before you sign.

Why Upgrade From 26-Gauge SMP to 24-Gauge Kynar 500?

Thicker steel dents less, and Kynar 500 holds its color far longer in Texas sun.

During the offer, you get the right-hand column for what the left-hand column would cost.

PVDF paint keeps its color and stays free of chalk far longer in strong sun.

The flat pan between seams is where dents and waviness show first.

Gauge: Why Thickness Matters in Hail Country

With steel gauges, the smaller number is the thicker sheet. 24-gauge measures about 0.023 inch against 0.018 inch for 26-gauge, a gain of roughly 28 percent. A stiffer pan takes more hail before it dents and shows less oil canning, the soft waviness of flat metal.

Good 26-gauge panels can still pass wind, fire and impact ratings. The gap is dents and ripples, which more and more Texas policies exclude as cosmetic.

Finish: Why Kynar 500 Outlasts SMP

Kynar 500 is a PVDF resin finish, the top tier for fade and chalk resistance. SMP costs less but fades and chalks sooner, most of all in dark or bright colors. Summer UV readings in Dallas commonly hit 9 or 10 on the index, so the finish does real work here.

The coil coater stands behind the Kynar 500 finish for 40 years on our standard PVDF colors, while SMP coverage is shorter. Both sit on Galvalume, steel coated with an aluminum-zinc alloy that suits inland North Texas. See the solid and metallic colors on our metal roof color chart.

For the full trade-off, read our 24 vs 26 gauge guide or learn what the impact classes mean on our Class 4 metal roofing page.

Why Add a Detached Outbuilding Now?

Because your crew, trim and delivery are already scheduled for the house. Adding a detached garage, shop or barn to the same contract saves a second trip, and the 15% discount rewards doing both at once.

The outbuilding can match the house, or take a lower-cost exposed-fastener panel such as PBR. See the options among our corrugated and PBR panels.

Our early-winter garage and shop roof add-on takes a larger percentage off the outbuilding but has no gauge upgrade. This offer puts more of its value into the house roof.

Who Qualifies and How Do You Claim the Upgrade?

Any homeowner in our Dallas-Fort Worth service area who has us install a standing seam house roof qualifies for the upgrade. The outbuilding discount rides on that same contract.

  1. Book a free estimate during the offer window. You can confirm it is open in the status line under the page title.
  2. Tell us about any detached outbuilding you want roofed at the same time.
  3. Check your proposal. The house roof shows the 24-gauge Kynar 500 system estimated as 26-gauge SMP, and the outbuilding shows its 15% line.
  4. Sign before the offer ends to lock in both.

Any snap lock or mechanical lock profile qualifies. Our lifetime non-prorated limited warranty on standing seam is explained on our warranties page. Shake and tile looks have their own per-square savings, and every deal is on our offers page.

Terms that apply to every Permanent Metal Roofing Systems offer

  • Offers are for new projects inside our Dallas-Fort Worth service area. A monthly offer applies to proposals signed by the last day of the month it runs.
  • Every discount comes off the price on your written estimate and is shown on your proposal as its own line before you sign.
  • One offer per project unless that offer says it can be combined. Offers have no cash value and do not apply to signed contracts, deposits already paid or finished work.
  • On an insurance claim, a discount lowers the contract price we report to your insurance company. It is never applied to your deductible: Texas law (HB 2102, 2019) requires homeowners to pay their own deductible, and Permanent Metal Roofing Systems does not pay, waive or rebate any part of it.
  • We can end or change an offer at any time. A proposal you have already signed keeps its price.

Free 24-Gauge Upgrade Questions

Is the 24-gauge upgrade really free?

Yes. Your written estimate prices the house roof as 26-gauge SMP standing seam, and we install the 24-gauge Kynar 500 system instead at no extra charge. Other lines, like tear-off, keep their regular amounts.

Which roofs qualify for the free gauge upgrade?

Standing seam house roofs that we install, in snap lock or mechanical lock profiles. This upgrade does not apply to metal shingles or stone-coated steel.

What counts as a detached outbuilding?

A separate structure such as a garage, shop, barn or pool house, roofed under the same contract as your house. One outbuilding per contract qualifies for the 15% discount. An attached garage is already part of the house roof.

Does a 24-gauge roof qualify for an insurance credit?

Gauge alone does not decide it. A UL 2218 class belongs to the specific product and assembly that was tested, not to a gauge number, and each Texas carrier sets its own credit. Ask us for the test listing on the panel you choose, then ask your agent which paperwork the carrier accepts.

Can I combine this upgrade with another offer?

No. The upgrade stands alone, so it cannot be paired with the everyday senior or military discount or with another monthly offer.
