- Lifetime limited warranty
- Free written estimates
How Much Does the Military and First Responder Discount Save?
It saves $500 on a new PMRS metal roof, shown as its own line on your written estimate. During Hometown Heroes Month, held each year in the month of Veterans Day, the same people save $1,000 instead.
The two amounts never add together. While Hometown Heroes Month runs, the $1,000 replaces the everyday $500. That page shows whether it is running today.
What Does $500 Look Like on an Estimate?
Picture a 1,800-square-foot roof in 24-gauge Galvalume panels painted with Kynar 500, our standard spec. It needs 40 feet of vented ridge and three new pipe boots.
| Estimate line | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Standing seam roof, 1,800 sq ft | Panels, trim, underlayment and labor, itemized after we measure |
| Vented ridge, 40 linear feet | A line of its own |
| Three pipe boots | A line of its own |
| Military and first responder discount | Minus $500 (minus $1,000 during Hometown Heroes Month) |
Add the itemized lines, then take off the discount. Our metal roof cost guide explains what moves each line.
Who Qualifies, and What Proof Do I Show?
You qualify if you serve or have served in one of the groups below, the home is yours and you live in it, and the roof measures at least 1,000 square feet.
| Who | Proof that works |
|---|---|
| Veterans | DD-214, VA ID card or military ID card |
| Active-duty service members | Military ID card |
| National Guard and Reserve members | Military ID card |
| Law enforcement officers | Department ID |
| Firefighters | Department ID |
| EMS crews | Department ID |
Show one document when you sign. If you bring a DD-214, feel free to cover your Social Security number first. Rental and investment properties do not qualify, and roof size is measured as roof surface from the plans, not floor area.
How to Claim the Discount
- Request a free estimate and tell us you are claiming the military and first responder discount.
- We measure the roof and talk through profiles, gauges and colors with you.
- Your proposal lists the discount on its own line: $500, or $1,000 while Hometown Heroes Month runs.
- Show your proof at signing, and the discount stays on your contract.
Does It Stack With Other Offers?
No, with one exception. One offer applies per project. The Curb Appeal Showcase is the only offer that lets this discount sit on top, and only while the showcase runs. If you also qualify for the senior discount, choose one of the two.
What Should a DFW Metal Roof Be Built to Handle?
A DFW roof has to handle hail, high wind and long stretches of 100-degree heat. Gauge, seam type and underlayment decide how well it does, so those are the specs worth checking first.
Gauge for hail. Our standard roof is 24-gauge steel, about 28 percent thicker than 26-gauge. Thicker steel resists denting better when hail comes through, and North Texas sees hail almost every year.
Seams for wind. In one recent DFW storm, gusts near 80 mph tore roofs off homes across the area. Our mechanical lock panels are folded shut on the roof in a single or double lock for higher uplift resistance. Snap lock panels lock over hidden clips without a seaming tool and suit most steep-slope homes.
Underlayment for heat. Metal runs hotter than shingles, so the underlayment beneath it has to be rated for that heat. On mechanical lock roofs at 3/12 slope and below, we lay Pro HT high-temperature underlayment.

Formed and Installed by One Company
Our own equipment roll-forms each panel to the length of its run, and computerized folders bend the trim and flashing so the pieces match one another. If a part needs changing mid-job, it comes from our own shop.
On PMRS standing seam roofs, material and labor both fall under our lifetime non-prorated limited warranty.
Terms that apply to every Permanent Metal Roofing Systems offer
- Offers are for new projects inside our Dallas-Fort Worth service area. A monthly offer applies to proposals signed by the last day of the month it runs.
- Every discount comes off the price on your written estimate and is shown on your proposal as its own line before you sign.
- One offer per project unless that offer says it can be combined. Offers have no cash value and do not apply to signed contracts, deposits already paid or finished work.
- On an insurance claim, a discount lowers the contract price we report to your insurance company. It is never applied to your deductible: Texas law (HB 2102, 2019) requires homeowners to pay their own deductible, and Permanent Metal Roofing Systems does not pay, waive or rebate any part of it.
- We can end or change an offer at any time. A proposal you have already signed keeps its price.

Military and First Responder Discount FAQ
Do veterans qualify, or only active-duty members?
Both. Veterans, active-duty service members, and National Guard and Reserve members all qualify. So do law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMS crews. Show a DD-214, a military or VA ID card, or a department ID when you sign.
What changes during Hometown Heroes Month?
The discount doubles to $1,000 for the same people with the same proof. The $1,000 replaces the $500 while that offer runs, so you never get both. The Hometown Heroes Month page shows whether it is running now.
Can I use it together with the senior discount?
No. If you qualify for both, pick one. The only offer this discount can stack with is the Curb Appeal Showcase, and only while the showcase is running.
Does the discount apply to metal shingles and stone-coated steel?
Yes. It applies to any metal roof system we install on your home, whether that is standing seam, stone-coated steel or metal shingles and shakes, as long as the roof is at least 1,000 square feet.
